This fight was mostly just gross. Stephens cut Payan open early with a big elbow on the ground, and from that point forward, LITERALLY, pools of blood started filling the octagon. Payan had absolutely NOTHING to show for his training, and Stephens basically just bullied him for the entire 3 round fight, winning all 3 rounds, not really getting touched at all, and Payan looked like his face had been hit with a sandblaster by the end of the fight. That shit was gross. Welcome to 145 Jeremy Stephens.

Well, that was odd... Brian Bowles beat the living shit out of Roop in the first round, nearly finishing him, and pretty much draining Roop's will to live. The problem is, Bowles was exhausted after the first round, so Roop jumped on him in the second round, and returned the favor, kicking the living shit out of Bowles, until the referee was forced to stop the fight, because Bowles was getting beat up too badly. Weird fight, I really thought after the first round's results, the entire fight was in the hands of Bowles. Awesome comeback for Roop!

The Karate Kid, Stephen Thompson, just beat Burrell in a 3 round fight for points. His Karate is strong, and he seems to have a quirky personality (coming out to Tenacious D's "Wonderboy" at the start of the show). In the end, I don't really see why anyone would dispute this decision, so there you have it, Stephen Thompson wins by unanimous decision.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a badass. Plain & simple, he's one of those Sambo experts, that comes in, and throws wrestlers around like ragdolls. I've seen Trujillo SEVERELY fuck people up before, and Nurmagomedov absolutely dominated him for the entire 15 minutes of this fight, and I even scored a couple of the rounds 10-8 in favor of Nurmagomedov. His overall MMA record right now is 20-0. How is this guy not in line for a title shot? This guy is fucking insane. The crowd didn't seem to like this fight, but I can't help but be impressed by how much of a beast Nurmagomedov is.

This was one of the few fights on this card that I didn't really care about, but man! Robert Whittaker is a pretty impressive striker, even though his stance was kind of weird (right hand up, left hand down by his side), he was able to pick apart Smith in all 3 rounds, and by the third round, Colton Smith's face was BLOODY AS FUCK, and he basically got knocked the fuck out, by a vicious combination of strikes. Robert Whittaker looks pretty legit, and Colton Smith is definitely willing to give it his all, even if he's completely outmatched by his opponent. Really good fight overall.

Wow, this has been an interesting night so far. I went into this fight wanting Bermudez to win, but to be honest, I thought Max Holloway totally dominated him in the first two rounds, using technical striking, utilizing his range, and just in general, outworking Bermudez. Bermudez clearly won the third round, by taking Holloway to the ground, and pounding him out until the end of the round, but that would still make this fight 29-28, in favor of Holloway, right? I guess the two judges that gave it to Bermudez, must have been huge wrestling fans, because Bermudez DID secure a takedown in the second round, but he wasn't able to do anything with it. Either way, this fight lived up to all of my expectations, so congratulations to Dennis Bermudez on a solid win!

YES! I've been on the Mike Pyle bandwagon for a while now, and going into this fight, he was 3-0 in his last 3 fights, so I was REALLY looking forward to this fight, and I had my fingers crossed for him to beat Rick Story, and HOLY SHIT WAS THIS FIGHT CLOSE OR WHAT!?! Rick Story beat the fuck out of Pyle in the first round. Pyle earned back some points in the second round. The third round probably could have gone either way, but Mike Pyle's grappling skills were on display, as well as some solid striking skills, and since Rick Story was bloody & tired by the end of the fight, and Pyle looked like he was still ready to go, I gave the fight to Pyle, and two of the judges agreed. BAM! 4 wins in a row for Mike Pyle! Hopefully he'll finally get some respect at 170, and be allowed to fight some serious contenders. Who else would like to see Mike Pyle vs. Matt Brown next? Or maybe throw Rory MacDonald in with one of those guys?

I've never liked K.J. Noons... Maybe it's because I'm a UFC loyalist or something? (UFC & Pride). But yeah, I like Donald Cerrone, so I was cheering for him, and I was PLEASED AS A PEACH when he came out and beat the living fuck out of K.J. Noons for all 3 rounds. Noons looked like he was ready to fight in the first round. The final two rounds basically just consisted of Cerrone pumping ketchup out of the face of Noons, with big elbows, punches, kicks, ground & pound, takedowns, etc... Donald Cerrone is a better fighter than K.J. Noons, in every sense of the word. AND NOW, THE FOUR HUGE FIGHTS OF THE NIGHT ARE READY TO START!!!

Yeah! That's how you finish a fight! I'm not really sure how Gray Maynard was in a position for a possible title shot here, but T.J. Grant is fucking LEGIT, and he definitely deserves the shot at this point. Gray Maynard came out brawling, throwing HUGE BOMBS, and he rocked Grant a few times, but eventually, Grant was able to pick Maynard apart, and he finished him with some AWESOME punch & knee combinations. T.J. Grant is fucking awesome, and I really do hope he beats the shit out of Benson Henderson.

YEAH! James Te Huna is a badass, but Glover Teixeira is like the next Wanderlei Silva or some shit. Te Huna looked solid at the start of the fight, throwing some awesome punch combinations, and swinging for the fences, but Teixeira was able to battle toe to toe with him, and eventually after a scramble, he locked on a tight guillotine choke, where he had Te Huna's right arm trapped under his arm, and Te Huna's left arm was trapped inside Glover's guard, so Te Huna was just laying sideways, with LITERALLY no possible way of escaping that choke. That was badass, and Glover Teixeira deserves a title shot as far as I'm concerned. I have a feeling they're going to have him fight Dan Henderson next though, which to be honest, isn't really a fight I want to see. Why does the UFC have Dan Henderson ranked as the #3 Light Heavyweight in the world? That's ridiculous...

This fight was intense... I almost threw up, the suspense nearly killed me. (And I'm serious about that). I wanted SO BADLY for Mark Hunt to win, "WAR PRIDE!!!", and he put up a hell of a fight, but GOD DAMNIT, Junior dos Santos knocked him the fuck out in the third round, after pretty much kicking Hunt's ass in all 3 rounds. My issue with Cigano winning this fight, is the fact that I really get tired of seeing the same fights, over and over again, ESPECIALLY when we're talking about title fights. Does anybody REALLY want to see Dos Santos fight Cain Velasquez again? But yeah, Mark Hunt put up a hell of a fight, but he got knocked way down the ladder after this one I'd say. SHIT...

Talk about pointless title shots... I mean, Bigfoot is a good fighter and stuff, but like I complained about after the Hunt vs. Dos Santos fight, I'm sick of seeing the same recycled heavyweight fights. WHERE THE FUCK IS ROY NELSON WHEN YOU NEED HIM!?! SOMEBODY GIVE ROY NELSON A SHOT! We already saw Cain destroyed Bigfoot, and it wasn't THAT long ago. Here we are again, Cain punched him, he fell to the ground, he punched him a bunch of times, and the referee stopped the fight. Is anybody surprised? WHERE IS ROY NELSON!?!
