Holy shit! A new guy that I'm a huge fan of, and he's a 125 pound fighter none-the-less! (Normally I think that division is boring). But yeah, Josh Sampo fucking DESTROYED Benoit in this fight. He beat the shit out of him in the first round, showing some awesome grappling skills & great striking, Benoit was able to make a bit of a comeback in the second round, but eventually got clipped, Sampo attacked him like a lion, locked on a rear-naked choke, and nearly ripped Benoit's head off. Awesome debut for Joshua Sampo.

This was a pretty decent fight. Drew Dober basically threw punches, and shot in for takedowns, and stood with an awkward stance the entire fight. Spencer defended against all of the takedowns, landed some really crisp punches, kicks, knees & elbows, and controlled most of the clinch game. So in the end, I gave the fight to Sean Spencer, and all 3 judges agreed.

This was a pretty good fight between two new heavyweights in the UFC. Walter Harris is 244 pounds, super fast, really strong, and his punches & kicks looked like lightning. Rosholt started slow, but started to earn back some points in the second round, and by the third round, he was able to secure a takedown and totally dominated Harris on the ground, so in the end, the judges gave the fight to Rosholt, and I guess I'll agree with that, even though I kind of wanted Harris to win.

This was a really great grappling match. Normally people get destroyed if they try to roll with Rani Yahya, but Tom Niinimaki ain't skerd! He spent most of the fight taking Yahya to the ground, and sort of controlling him. Yahya went for a few slick submissions, but Tom won back those points by showing great escape skills. So yeah, in the end, I gave the fight to Niinimaki, 29-28, and two of the judges basically agreed.

Well that's a shame. Maximo Blanco came out throwing wild punches, pinned Akira up against the cage, he shot in, took him to the ground, completely dominated Akira, threw a knee at his face (while Akira was clearly still on the ground) and Maximo loses via DQ. That really sucks, because it was clear that Maximo was well on his way to winning this one in impressive fashion.

This was a pretty good fight. I'm sort of sad that Roxanne hasn't had a very good record trying to fight for a spot in the UFC yet, because I like her as a person, but Pennington really got brutal there at the end of this fight, brutally beating Modafferi's body with punches on the ground, and eventually she locked on a TIGHT guillotine choke, and held that for the final minute or so of the fight. Great win for Raquel Pennington, and I hope to see them both in the UFC again.

Yeah! Two extremely tall chicks scrapping like champs. Duke show some really great Muay Thai skills, throwing brutal knees while standing, and brutal elbows on the ground. Duke also showed some solid submission skills, but got herself in a little bit of trouble in the third round, by locking on a schoolyard headlock, and taking Morgan to the ground, where Morgan mounted her back, and almost locked on a rear-naked choke. The fight ended up back on the feet though, and Duke finished strong, so in the end, Jessamyn Duke wins via unanimous decision.

Well, not a bad fight. I really don't like Chris Holdsworth, so I was hoping David Grant would win this fight, and I gave him the first round at least, BUT... The second round, looked like a good fight, until Holdsworth took the fight to the ground, locked on a rear-naked choke, and forced Grant to submit. Good win by Holdsworth.

Man, I have mixed feelings about this situation. I'm a huge fan of Shayna Baszler, and she was really the only reason I was excited about this season, so when she got her ass kicked by Julianna Pena (whoever that is?), I was PISSED. Well, here Pena is, beating the shit out of EVERYBODY, ALL SEASON LONG, and now that she's in the finals, she BEAT THE LIVING FUCK out of Jessica Rakoczy. So yeah, first round stoppage, Julianna Pena might be one of the top females in the sport right now. I would like to see her fight someone like Liz Carmouche to see what's up, but yeah, this was a good fight, and a really solid ass beating by Pena.

JESUS! That was an ass beatings! Gray Maynard took Nate down early, but it didn't matter, because from that point forward, Nate flipped Maynard with a Judo throw, and then he boxed the living fuck out of his face, with 1,000 punches, eventually forcing the referee to stop the fight, even though they were still both on their feet, and as Nate was pulled away, Maynard just kind of wobbled and collapsed. CRAZY fight, and Nate Diaz is a fucking beast. Great ending to an otherwise lackluster show.
