Sam Watford is making his Pro Debut here, and I've never seen Hepburn fight either. Hepburn sort of started the fight with a takedown, and Watford pulled guard, so I don't know how many points Hepburn really won, with a takedown that Watford looked like he sort of wanted to happen. They got back up, and Watford took Hepburn down with a trip from the clinch. It was a pretty uneventful, even opening round, which I scored in favor of Watford, based mostly on his pressure. The second round was filled with more pressure from Watford, pressing Hepburn up against the fence in the clinch, and then he took him to the ground, and Hepburn's nose was bleeding. That was a solid 10 minutes of terribly boring shit to watch. Hepburn came out like a maniac in the third round, looking to kill Watford, but Watford was able to slowly get him back to the ground, where Watford stalled out the rest of the fight, going for an armbar in the final 30 seconds, but failing. 30-27 for Watford, I guess, but this fight sucked, and I never want to see either of these guys fight again.

These guys both look like they came straight out of a Ricky Gervais skit. Rogers kicked Enache in the dick, sort of, which slowed the pace of the fight down, as we waited for Enache to recover. After that, some grappling happened, Enache threw Rogers to the ground, and started looking for submissions, but failed. The first round goes to Enache, based mostly on his submission attempts. Enache threw a few leg kicks in the second round, the clinched, they broke apart, Enache threw ac ouple of punches, threw Rogers to the ground again, locked on a scarf hold armlock, and finished the fight about halfway through the second round. Nice submission victory, with a unique submission, but the rest of the fight was kind of slow and boring.

Secor took Holloway to the ground in the first round, ending up in side control, where he slowly started working for the full mount. Once he secured the full mount, he just kind of laid there on top of Holloway, and did absolutely nothing. With 40 seconds left, Secor sort of went for a triangle, but it just allowed Holloway to get in top position (inside Secor's guard), so it ended up looking like Holloway was taking over, but really, the first round goes to Secor, in a very boring fashion. Secor secured another takedown in the second round, ending up in Holloway's guard. After almost another entire round of stalling on the ground, Secor finally flipped over, grabbed Holloway's left leg, locked on the achilles lock, and forced Holloway to submit with just 6 seconds left in the round. Nice submission, but pretty boring fight while it lasted.

Zichelle threw some hard kicks to start this fight, but Haley took him down quickly, but Zichelle was able to power his way into top position. They wrestled around a little bit, and Zichelle went for a guillotine, which allowed Haley to get on top, eventually working his way around to the back of Zichelle, where he was looking for a rear-naked choke. He eventually gave it up, and beat up Zichelle's head with punches, and then finished the round with an armbar attempt. The fought a little bit on their feet to start the second round, but 30 seconds in, Haley took the fight to the ground again, and Zichelle tried to defend with a guillotine choke. The round was kind of slow, as both guys looked tired (at the start of the round), but Zichelle was able to get on top for a little while, and then tried to take Haley's head off during the final seconds, but missed with most of his big punches. Haley got the fight to the ground again in the third round, blasted Zichelle with a short left elbow, and blood exploded all over the arena. This fight went from slow & boring, to looking like one of the most brutal things you'll ever see in MMA. They stopped the fight temporarily, the doctor checked him out, and said it's fine, so they started back up on the ground, with Haley on top in half guard. Haley slipped into full mount, and then back mount, went for a rear-naked choke, and Zichelle was able to spin around, ending up on top in Haley's guard for the rest of the round. Haley wins at least 29-28, if not all 3 rounds, via unanimous decision.

Bessette kicked the shit out of Roddy during the first minute of the opening round, throwing hard kicks to the body as well as the head, eventually knocking Roddy to the ground. He beat up Roddy on the ground for a minute or so with some decent punches, but eventually stood up, and got kicked in the face with a big upkick from Roddy. They stood up and clinched, Bessette landed some hard knees to the body of Roddy, Roddy pulled guard, and started looking for submissions. Bessette stood up, and kicked the shit out of Roddy's legs, while Roddy was on his back. Roddy was obviously looking to grab one of Bessette's legs, but Bessette beat him to it, locking on a heel hook of his own, causing Roddy to panic, forcing him to tapout. Awesome fight for Bessette, showing great striking, as well as solid submission skills.

There was an awkward clinch to start this fight, Giovanella secured a takedown, ending up in full mount, which made it easy for Polcare to flip him over, ending up on top in Giovanella's guard. They continued to wrestle around for a couple of minutes, Giovanella locked on a triangle choke, Polcare tried to slam his way out of it, but that didn't work, as Giovanella just tightened his grip, eventually forcing Polcare to tapout about halfway through the first round. Solid victory for Billy Giovanella.

Moy came out looking pretty aggressive, but Cotito clearly had the crisper striking skills. Cotito spent most of the first round beating up Moy, and even picked him up and slammed him at one point near the end of the round. Moy took Cotito down in the second round, and got a little revenge, hooking on a guillotine choke, followed by some elbows. The fight started to get pretty wild in the final half of the second round, as Cotito landed a nice flying knee, but Moy took him back to the ground, leaving the fight all tied up on the scorecards going into the final round. The final round had a lot of hopping around, and random strikes being thrown by both fighters for 3 minutes or so. Moy finally shot in for another takedown, took Cotito to the ground, Cotito tried to work some rubber guard, but Moy took his back, locking on a rear-naked choke, forcing Cotito to submit for the impressive submission victory. This was the first really good fight of the night so far.

The first two minutes of this fight consisted of Page moving around like a snake, and Ontiveros looking terrified, but not a lot of action was happening. They eventually clinched, Page tripped Ontiveros to the ground. Page slid into full mount, and then back mount, and then he threw Ontiveros to the ground again, Page was in side mount, and he chopped Ontiveros's head up with some pretty brutal elbows. The stoppage looked a little quick, but Ontiveros stayed on the ground after the fight due to a broken jaw. Another awesome TKO stoppage for Michael "Venom" Page.

30 seconds into the first round, and Yamauchi was already on the ground, looking for leg locks, trying to break apart Kobayashi with his Jiu-Jitsu skills. Kobayashi landed a few decent strikes, but Yamauchi was all over him, dragging him to the ground repeatedly, looking for submissions from all directions. The second round was another grappling clinic being displayed by Yamauchi, as he dominated Kobayashi for the duration of the round on the ground, finishing the round by cranking on a Kimura. The second round had more striking for the first minute, but Yamauchi blasted Kobayashi with a left hand, knocking him to the ground. From there, Yamauchi of course followed him to the ground, started cranking on more submissions, he climbed onto his back, locked on a rear-naked choke, and finished the fight via submission, around the halfway mark of the final round. Awesome display of skill by Yamauchi, a guy that is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters in Bellator.

This fight was a huge mismatch in my opinion. I have Ward ranked #30 in the world at 170, and Olson is closer to #199 or some shit. Olson shot for a takedown, failed miserably, and Ward ended up on top. They eventually stood back up, and Ward beat the shit out of Olson, knocking him to the ground, and hten he got on top of him again, wrestling the shit out of him. Ward secured the full mount over by the cage, and then beat the living fuck out of Olson with big punches. They stood back up, Ward blasted Olson in the face a few times with some heavy punches, knocked him on his ass again, and finished him with some more punches on the ground. Brennan Ward is a fucking BEAST at 170.

Halsey (obviously) took Carvalho to the ground early in the first round, and even though Carvalho put up a fight for that takedown, eventually he just had to give in, and tried to keep some sort of guard, but Halsey was able to pass that, which allowed him to lock on a TIGHT arm-triangle choke. How did Carvalho escape that? Carvalho then tried to lock on an inverted triangle choke, but that didn't work either, so Carvalho shot for a takedown, but the ultra powerful Halsey was able to flip him over, ending up in full mount again. Carvalho scrambled back to his feet, and was taken down again, and with every takedown, Halsey was able to secure full mount, over and over again, but he still wasn't doing anything with it, other than that arm-triangle attempt earlier in the round. I scored the first round 10-9 for Halsey. Halsey moved in slowly, and attempted another takedown to start the second round. Carvalho did a decent job defending this one, and was back on his feet in no time. Carvalho delivered a slick liver kick, Halsey collapsed, and the fight was stopped. It wasn't a very explosive looking finish, but it was impressive none-the-less, and we have a new Bellator Middleweight Champion, Rafael Carvalho.
